FIVE DROWNED
LATVIAN STEAMER SUNK COLLISION IN CHANNEL (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Wednesday.® A collision occurred off the Lizard, the southernmost point of England, between the British steamer Mansepool and the Latvian steamer Horn, from Riga. The latter sank in five minutes. The captain’s wife, three engineers and a fireman were drowned. The other 10 people on board were saved.
The Horn was a steamer* of 641 tons, built at Workington in 1001, and owned by W. Satorsky and A. Natrin, of Riga. She sailed under the Latvian flag.
