“LAST, BUT NOT LEAST”
Our Town Hall has, from time to time, held some great crowds bu never before, I feel sure, has that edl fice held such a wonderful gathering a. assembled there last night to welcome and honour the Leader of the Opposi tion Mr. H. E. Holland. There was no ticket system used to fill the meetinjwith a majority of his supporters. AU were on the same footing and to sc. the huge crowd which filled the flop of the building and the sea of fates rising tier on tier in the gafieries something t.o remember. The spon taneous and unanimous manner «> which the mighty assemblage srccrea Mr. Holland, the rapt attention the gave to his masterly address, and tr volume of sound they put into tneu “Aye” in response to the Mayor s ques tion as to the resolution of thanks apo confidence* was an inspiration to Jh supporters, and an eye-opener to mopponents.' As Mr. Holland stood on that platform enunciating his spew in a clear ringing voice, reading notes without the aid of spectacles, on could not but feel that here was man fitted, physically and mentally, I lead our peopie out of the wilderne* of depression and dissatisfaction.
