TENNIS STARS ARRIVE IMPRESSIONS OF N.Z. PLAY Laden with piles of tennis racquets, the four big tennis representatives of Great Britain and their manager, Mr. H. A. Sabelli. stepped off the Limited this morning to receive a welcome from a good muster of delagates to the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, headed by the president, Mr. E. Hickson. After two days of snooker. squash and “hanging about,” waiting for the weather to clear in W ellington, the team has conic to Auckland to play the test match against New Zealand on Saturday ami Monday.

Tlio visitors are:—Mr. Sabelli. foils years secretary of the English Lawn Tennis Association; Mr. H. W*. Austin. England’s hope, who beat Lott anu Hennessey at Wimbledon, and ran Lacosto to five sets; Mr. J. C. Gregory. Davis Cup player for three years: Mr. E. Higgs, also a Davis Cup representative for two years; and Mr. I. C. Collins, several times champion of Scotland. LIKE THE COURTS HERE All are young. Austin being 22. Gregory and Collins about 25. and Higgs 27 years old. They are liking New Zealand in spite of the rain which has dogged them since their arrival. The only match they have played so far was at Christchurch, where thev disposed of a South Island team fairly easily. The team and also the Dominion side will practise at Stanley Street courts this afternoon, starting at about two o’clock. So far the only official arrangement is a dinner to be given by the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association to the visitors at the Grand Hotel on Saturday night. A cabaret party
