SHOPLIFTING TRIO MANY CHARGES PREFERRED Press Association. "WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A systematic course of shoplifting was revealed by Chief-Detective Ward in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when three married women—Annie Dean, aged 32; Adrienne Lindsey Kershaw, aged 21; and Mary Wearne, aged 45 — came before Mr. E. Page, S.M., Dean faced seven charges of theft, involving £54 15s 6d, from shops and warehouses in Wellington and Christchurch. Kershaw, one charge; and Wearne, three charges of theft and one of receiving. Mr. Page said he was satisfied that they had acted together. Dean and Wearne were sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, and Kershaw to three months’ imprisonment.
