GLADSTONE ROAD CROSSING

ADVICE TO MT. ALBERT COUNCIL Notification from the Minister of Railways was received by the Mount Albert Borough Council last evening that preliminary work at the Gladstone Road level crossing showed that an overhead bridge wouldl be needed. It was not likely that this would be done until four years after the duplication of the line had begun. The council decided to ask that the work should be carried out as quickly as possible. The building inspector reported that 50 permits, involving £10,304, had been issued since September 14. For the six months ended September 30, permits involving £77,721 had been issued.
