KITCHEN EVENING FOR BRIDE-ELECT After the meeting of the Elm Re be hah Lodge, No. 33, on Monday evening, in the Paragon Theatre sup-per-room, the members gave a kitchen evening to Sister X. Palmer, in view of her approaching marriage to Bro. ,T. O. Barker. The N.G., Sister Barnes, in making the presentation, on behalf of the Elm Rebekah Lodge, asked Sister Palmer to accept the small tokens as an expression of the esteem which the members of the Elm Rebekah Lodge felt towards her, and wished her every happiness. Bro. Barker ably responded, on bchalf of Sister Palmer. They were both received with musical honours. Early in' the evening Bro. D. Pern, berton, D.D.G.M., on behalf of Elm Lodge, presented a framed P.N.G.’s certificate to Sister D. Faber, P.N.G., and also presented Sister I. Palmer with a P.N.G. collar and a framed certificate.

French Club Holds Last Dance of Season VIVID DECORATIONS The final soiree-dansante of the French Club’s season was held in the Click Clack Cabaret last evening, when a host of prettily gowned dancers enjoyed a cheery evening. Shaded lights and streamers of orange and conton jade decorated the ballroom, and vases of gaily coloured Iceland poppies brightened the lounge. The hostess for the evening was Mrs. Eliot Davis, who received the guests wearing a model gown of peach bloom satin charmeuse, with the skirt draped to one side. M. Paul Serre, the French Consul, attended the function with Mr. Norman Heath, Consul for Latvia. The guests included: Mis. D Authreau, chenille embossed georgette frock of apple green. Madame M. de Saint-Mars (London) cameo pink draped chiffon gown embroidered with crystal beads. Mrs. L. A. Lincoln, dainty gown of pompadour pink georgette, with petalled uneven hem. Mrs. H. Here is a good recipe for dumplings light as air:— Prepare a batter with two thor-oughly-beaten eggs, two eupsful of milk, two teaspoonsful of baking powder and sufficient flour to make it fairly stiff. Within ten minutes of serving the meat, pop this batter into the pot in separate tablespoonsfuls, being careful to see that the liquor is boiling. Cover the pot tightly, cook for ten minutes, and serve at once.
