TEMPERANCE SOCIETY
WORK OF THE YEAR The report presented at the annual meeting of the Auckland Total Abstinence Society, held in the Unity Hall last evening, by the secretary, Mr. j. A. Carr, showed that the executive had carried out the programme of temperance educational work during the past year, and had issued a large number of pledge certificates and letters to those signing temperance pledges. The executive had a plan of aggressive work in view for the coming year. Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr. L. E. Falkner; pastpresident, Mr. C. G. Hill; vicepresidents, Mrs. Lee Cowie, the Revs. Lionel Fletcher. Gilmour, P. S. Smallfield, J. F. Martin, J. G. Bull, and Messrs. John Fleming and A. J. Stallworthy; secretary, Mr. J. A. Carr; treasurer, Mr. J. Banbury.
