CHINESE FINED £2O

OVERSTAYED PERMIT Chan Sing, a Chinese, aged 35, pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to staying in New Zealand longer than the terms of his temporary immigration permit allowed. The collector of Customs, Mr. J. Mclntosh, said that Sing was 10 months over his permit. Remarking that these cases were becoming too frequent, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., imposed a fine of £2O, in default three months’ imprisonment. A deportation order was made.
