ASLEEP ON DUTY
QUIP AT UNITEDS LABOUR MAN’S JIBE A quip /t the United members in the I-louse of Representatives was indulged in by Mr. H. G. R. Mason, Labour candidate for the Suburbs, who spoke at Henderson last evening. The Uniteds in Parliament, Mr. Mason asserted, were enthusiastic only in avoiding anything which was likely to interfere with the Government. ”1 admire the works of Liberalism in the past,” he said, “but there is of the old spirit to-day. The great days of Liberalism were not achieved by going to bed. These men to-day are not Liberals, and a vote for the United Party is one for the Government. What is the use of voting for a party of that sort? If you want opposition you want it "to be a re.al opposition.”
