Wake has returned to Hamilton from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Hall, of Puketutu, Te Uku, has returned to her home after a visit to Auckland. Miss Vera Moore, the pianist, will be the guest of Mrs. H. C. Ross during her stay in Hamilton. Miss Muriel Margetts and her neice, Miss Zee Margetts, of Mangere, arc spending a holiday in Rotorua. Mrs. F. E. Little, of Auckland, and Mrs. Grace White, of. The Entertainment Committee of the j Rotorua Women’s Chib gave a clelight- | ful concert at the Government Sana- | torium on Friday evening. * * * Mrs. W. Guldens,y’of Harriet Bay, Canterbury, Mrs. H. Allendar. of Auckland, and Mrs. J. G. Richards, of Wellington, are at the Grand Central. Miss M. Baker, who has just retired from the position of lady editor of “New Zealand Sporting and Dramatic Review,” will spend a 'short holiday in Hamilton with her brother, Mr. H. Baker. * * * The officers elected for the year for the summer flower show at Te Puke ] resulted: President, Mrs. Carpenter ; (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mrs. Ball and Mrs. Ross; treasurer, Mrs. Vercoe; secretary, Mrs. Cashmore. Mes- : dames Alexander and Simpson under- J took the arrangements for lunch and : afternoon tea on show day. Mr. - Tebbs, of Tauranga, was appointed ■ judge of the cut flowers. * * * . A most enjoyable afternoon was : spent on Friday at St. Luke's Hall, : Rotorua, when the Rev. Archdeacon F. W. Chatterton and Mrs. Chatterton welcomed parishioners and friends to a ‘‘bring and buy” afternoon. Despite the boisterous weather there was a good attendance, there being about 50 guests present. Many useful and pretty articles were brought and sold. A dainty afternoon tea was provided. The guessing competition was won by Mrs. W. Jones. On Friday evening a social was given at the Te Puke. jMan.se by the church managers, their wives and the Ladies’ Guild as a farewell to Mr. and Mrs. ' Stewart. The evening- was spent in competitions and social intercourse. The Rev. War nock presented Mr. and Mrs. Stewart with a set of supper dishes. Miss B. Wilson, who has been assistant at the Sunday School for a number ' of years and who intends to take up her residence with the Stewarts, was the recipient of a bedroom clock as a gift from the church members.
