FOUR MEN GASSED

OVERCOME IN PIT RESCUE BY PASSER-BY Press Association DUNEDIN. Wednesday. Four workmen, laying down gas pipes in a pit at Mornington this afternoon were overcome by fumes. Mr. Leslie Croat was. returning to work after lunch when he noticed one of the men waving very feebly from the edge of the excavation. Running to the spot he found two men unconscious in the pit and the other two semi-conscious. He iifted them to the surface and summoned a doctor, but it was some time before they regained consciousness.
