FREEDOM OF LONDON
HONOUR FOR RETIRING PRIMATE (United P A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) LONDON, Monday. The Archbishop of Canterbury. Dr. R. T. Davidson, on the eve of his retirement, received the freedom of the City of London. Sir Adrian Pollock City Chamberlain and Treasurer, presented it in a gold casket. Sir Adrian said the Archbishop had been the trusted friend of three Sovereigns'and a wise counsellor to whom many people—great and small —had taken their troubles. When modern history was written it would record that none had rendered greater services to mankind. Dr. Davidson in responding said both he and the Church owed much to his wife.
