SIXTY FEET OVER BANK

LORRY-DRIVER ESCAPES WITH BRUISES | (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Tuesday. Severe bruises and shock were received by Mr. H. Hark, aged 28, of Raglan, when a lorry which he was driving fell off the Karioi Road between Whale Bay and Bryant House. The vehicle, which was heavily laden with firewood, was swerved by the driver to the side of the road to avoid a deep rut. Simultaneously a tyre blew out and the road, which had been undermined by a stream, gave way. On falling down the bank the vehicle turned over completely apd came to rest against a tree. Mr. Park I was thrown through the windscreen j and fell 60ft to the bottom of the bank.
