30,000 MORE VOTERS
NINE AUCKLAND AREAS SHOW INCREASES RECORD REGISTRATION Largely due to compulsory registration, a record number of electors have been enrolled in Auckland for this year's elections. For the nine Auckland electorates there are about 30.000 more names on the rolls than there were in the 1925 election. Auckland Suburbs, the new electorate, has been made up of areas in other electorates, so the comparison is not affected by the people in the new district. The figures supplied have yet to be amended by the deduction of removals from the main rolls, but officials do not expect any serious alteration. Comparative figures are:
In the new electorate of Hauraki, there is a total of 11,085 names. Marsden has 10,691 names, compared with 9,442 in 1925.
