UNITED CANDIDATE RETIRES Press Association DUNEDIN, To-day. MR. JOHN LOUDON, the United Party's candidate for the Chalmers seat, announces his retirement from the contest as he is unable to subscribe to Sir Joseph Ward’s loan policy. Mr. Loudon was formerly Mayor of Dunedin, and is an ex-chairman of the Otago Harbour Board.
