SUBURBS ELECTORATE
CANDIDATES’ MEETINGS Last evening Sir James Gun son. Reform candidate for Auckland Suburbs, dealt with the unemployment question, before an audience of 150 people at Kelston. He emphasised, as a cure for the trouble, the necessity for an increase in State advances. At the end of his address a vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously. A meeting at Te Atatu of about 60 electors was addressed by Mr. IT. G. R. Mason, Labour candidate for Auckland Suburbs. He spoke mainly on the transport system, saying that the framing of suitable legislation had been hampered by the luke-warm attitude of the Auckland City Council. However, under the constitution eventually agreed upon, he believed that Te Atatu would have little difficulty in securing admission to the Transport Board’s area. Mr. Mason was given a vote of thanks and confidence.
