CALLED “PRETTY”

CARPENTIER PAINED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Saturday. The French boxer, Georges Carpentier, paid a surprise visit to the office of the British Broadcasting Corporation this evening. He said nothing would make him happier than again to bo a boxer of world-wide renown. One of the most painful memories of his life was the way he had been twitted because of his so-called “grand manner,” and the fact that he had been called “pretty.” Carpentier said he would maintain to the end of his days that Jack Dempsey was the best and greatest of all the champion boxers.
