“SHEEREST MOCKERY”

UNFAIR REPRESENTATION UNITED PARTY IN MOTUEKA Press Association NELSON, Friday. Mr. G. C. Black, United Party candidate for the Motueka seat, opened his campaign at a crowded meeting in the Anglican schoolroom at Motueka. He said that representative government in New Zealand at the present time was the sheerest mockery and that the Order-in-Council had invaded private enterprise. To style as individual effort the Government treatment of returned soldiers was now strongly condemned. He asked electors to vote the United Party to the Treasury benches so as to rewrite the laws in a spirit of Liberalism.

The votes of thanks and confidence were carried by acclamation.
