PARAMOUNT-CHRISTIE STUDIOS The new series of ParamountChristie Short Features, “The Confessions of a Chorus Girl,” will be produced entirely with sound at the Para-mount-Christie studios. A certain number of these productions have already been completed and sound sequences are being specially filmed for them. The first is titled “Skating Home,” and will Incorporate music, dialogue and special sound effects. As these productions are all centred round the stage, they form ideal backgrounds for sound synchronisation. According to a recent announcement made by A 1 Christie, all of the coming Paramount-Christie comedies are to be sound synchronised. “The Dizzy Diver” is the title of the first comedy that has been made with sound. Billy Dooley is the star. Dooley has been associated with musical comedy for many years, and his voice is well suited for sound reproduction. Most of the Christie player# have backgrounds of stage experience to lielp them in the production cf the new type short features.

Doris Hill, a Paramount player who has hitherto acted in minor roles, is to play the lead in the new Grey picture, “Avalanche,” which has just gone into production. Jack Holt has the male lead in the picture, which will be filmed for the most part on location. Baclano\*a has been cast for an important r :>le.

The first mystery film was made 23 years ago, according to J. Barney Sherry, a veteran actor who plays an important role in the latest mystery picture. “Forgotten Faces,” which will be released in New Zealand in the J® ax ’* utllre ' The old film was titled Kafrles. the Amateur Cracksman,” ..T^ ias many points of resemblance to Forgotten Faces,” now in production at the Paramount Studios.
