CROQUET SEASON OPENS

ONEHUNGA’S RECORD

For the past eight years the Onehunga Croquet Club has won the championship pennant competition. “I regard this as a world’s record, and I trust that the club will win it again this year,” said Mr. Robert Buchanan, president of the Onehunga Bowling Club,’ in opening the croquet club’s season this afternoon. There was a large attendance of members and their friends. The lawns were in excellent condition and the prospects for the year are good. Mrs. C. Schnauer, president of the club, made the first hoop and the season was declared ppen. During the aftei'noon several matches were played and aftei'noon tea was provided. _______
