It is not anticipated that the merger will be fully functioning before the end of 1929. Lord Inverforth, on behalf of Marconi, and Sir John DenisonPender, on behalf of die Eastern, with with the co-operation of the Pacific and West Indies companies, bought from the County Council an Embankment site for £310,000, on which to erect the merger offices, costing £500,000.
