HELD FOR N.Z. POLICE
MAN FOUND IN SYDNEY DETECTIVE’S LONG TRAIL (United P.A. —By Telegraph Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11.10 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A city detective yesterday trailed a woman shopping in the city stores, hoping that her actions would disclose the whereabouts of a man who is wanted by the New Zealand police. The detective had little data to work upon, but he was convinced that the woman was the wanted man’s wife. Her shopping excursion was extensive, but was not enlightening to the watcher, who was beginning to fear that the trail was cold when he saw her enter a fish shop and purchase some cooked fish.
With a more hopeful heart, he boarded the same tram, and then saw the woman enter a house. The husband was later arrested, and is now held for the New Zealand police.
