As the rules for Rlunket Shield matches stand at present, professionals tvho are eligible under residential qualifications are allowed to play, but not those professionals under engagement to minor associations which are in Rlunket Shield districts. This was .the interpretation put upon the rules by a meeting of the mapagement committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council. SOCCER FINAL TRAMS MEET PONIES FALCON CUP KNOCK-OUT The final curtain will be rung down on the Soccer season to-morrow with the final for the Falcon Cup at Blandford Park between Tramways and Ponsonby. QUEEN CARNIVAL VOTING The count of the voting taken last evening in the Auckland Football Association’s queen carnival contest placed the queens as follow: —Business Houses, Miss Marjorie Simpson, 1; Tramways, Miss Hilda Takle, 2; Ponsonby, Miss Marjorie Armstrong, 3; Y.M.C.A., Miss Mavis Ross, 4; Belmont, Miss Lena Follas, 5; Onehunga. Miss Xellie Bentley, 6. The voting is still very close and another count will be taken to-morrow afternoon.
