GOVERNMENT DEFEATED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 12.15 p.m. SYDNEY, To-day. In the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, in committee on the Savings Bank Housing Bill, an amendment that the commissioners carry out the whole of the legal work connected with housing in their own department, was carried against the Government by 38 votes to 34.
