BY ORDER OF THE KING RESISTING REFORMS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11 a.m. DELHI, Tuesday. News from Kabul states that Pir, a holy man, who was taken into custody for opposing certain reforms introduced by King Amanullah since his return from Europe, has, together with several companions, been shot by the King’s order. Pir, who had great influence in Afghanistan, had been against the Government and against reforms. He was a propagandist among the fanatical Mangal and Tajis tribes near the Indian border.
