New Zealander Falls Victim to “Wallet Game " in Vancouver

(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Received 10.12 a.m. VANCOUVER, Tuesday. VICTIM of the “wallet” game, Bryan Lewis, a New Zealand * visitor, lost 230 dollars to confidence men. He found a wallet containing valuable papers and returned it to two men, said to be its owners. They showed their gratitude by introducing a “sure thing betting system, which failed. They tried to persuade Mr. Lewis to cable to New Zealand for £2,400 which was deposited there. He took the men to the office on a pretence of sending the cable, and promised to meet them later. He returned with the police, but the men had flown.
