COATES AND CONFIDENCE
ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT . IN NORTH WILL RELIEVE PRIME MINISTER OF MEETINGS (From Our Own Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, Tuesday. Arapohue was the centre for a large and enthusiastic meeting of supporters of the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, \vfcich was held in Mr. Wyatt’s boarding house last night. The following resolution was carried unanimously; “That tills meeting of supporters of the Right Hon. J. G. Coates wishes to express their continued confidence in him as their member, and pledge themselves to do their best to further his candidature at the forthcoming f election; and, further, expresses their confidence in him as leader of the Reform Party.” A further resolution was also carried unanimously, after the chairman of the election executive, Mr. Dargaville, had referred to the fact that Mr. Coates would require to travel through th© Dominion during the campaign, viz., “That in view of the fact that Mr. Coates will be required to address meetings throughout the Dominion, this meeting desires to relieve him of the necessity of addressing a meeting at Arapohue, if it is inconvenient for him to do so.” Similar motions were carried at a meeting at Te Kopuru held last week. Next week the Prime Minister will visit the Kaipara electorate, and will speak at Paparoa on arrival of the train on Wednesday, and at Dargaville the same evening. Whangarei, Helensville, and Kumeu will be visited, and the electors addressed, by Mr. Coates on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings respectively.
