been a keen student of politics and social conditions in the countries in which she has resided. At the age of 24, Miss Rutledge won the prize for the All-Australasia Play Competition with a drama “The Spirit of Desire,” which had its setting in India. Oscar Asche, reading it, said it had a universal appeal and he had thought, before meeting the author, that it must have been written by a man of letters. “How and Why it Happened” is another play from Miss Rutledge’s pen. Miss Rutledge will place her services at the disposal of Sun readers. Mrs. Waters, navy crepe de chine and brown hat. Mrs. Meredith, floral silk and black and fawn hat. Mrs. Woods, navy crepe de chine and navy hat. Mrs. Bennett, blue and fawn frock and navy hat. Mrs. Aicken, blue repp and hat to tone.
