AROHANUI MASONS ENTERTAIN FRIENDS
ENJOYABLE DANCE A very gay function was the ladies’ evening given by the officers and brethren of Lodge Arohanui, at the i Masonic Hall, Edinburgh Street, Newton. last evening. The hall was bright with multicoloured streamers and balloons, and the supper tables were decorated with flowers and festoons, artistically arranged. During the evening Worshipful Bro. J. F. Hosking proposed the toast of the ladies, which was responded to by Worshipful Bro. T. Cox. An excellent programme included: Songs, Miss M. Williamson, Miss D. Bransgrove; elocution. Mrs. R. Mortimer; songs, Messrs. C. Massee (humorous) and A. Burrows (bass). An excellent programme of music was arranged and played by Bro. A. Morrow’s orchestra. Bro. H. J. W. Bransgrove was responsible for the organisation of the evening. Among tile dancers were: Mrs. J. F Hosking, apricot satin with velvet posy and georgette shawl. Mrs. J. B. Cox, black pleated georgette and blue shawl. Mrs. H. Bransgrove, black crepe de chine. Mrs. Colin McLiver, blue georgette heavily beaded in blue and gold. Mrs. Dransfield, pale blue sequinned frock. Mrs. J. Theull, black silk georgette and cream hand-painted shawl. Mrs. Howard Jones, jade green crepe de chine and diamante, with cream wrap. Mrs. F. Kay-Stratton, ciel blue georgette over satin, and hand-painted black shawl. Mrs. A. Stanbridge, opal blue georgette and silver lace. Mrs. N. Hamilton, black beaded georgette. Mrs. TV. K. Tugby, blue crepe de chine with deep lace hem, white shawl. Mrs. F. Jowsey, apricot georgette and lace. Mrs. Vale, sea green georgette with silver embroidery. Mrs. S. Andrew, figured crepe de chine and gold shawl. Mrs. H G. Spencer, hyacinth blue lace and georgette. Mrs. R. Mortimer, cream embossed georgette, with cherry velvet posy. Mrs. B. Burdett, geranium pink ninon with silver lace. Mrs. F. Brady, white crepe de chine with silver- trimming and large flame rose. Mrs. L. Darrach, gold shot taffeta. Mrs. Gibson, black taffeta with handpainted shawl. Mrs. W. Nairn, japonica taffeta in period fashion. Mrs. W. Ballbank, rose taffeta with diamante. Mrs. Lee, apricot satin and lace, hand-painted shawl. Mrs. J. Wilson, black georgette relieved with gold lace. Mrs. L Heasman, moonlight georgette with shawl to match. Mrs. A. Gilbert, sea green ninon with pink velvet roses and shawl. Mrs. A. McLennan, silver tissue with overdress of black tulle, relieved with apple green. Mrs. G. Martindale, jade green georgette. beaded in silver. Mrs. A. Lee, black and silver georgette. Mrs. Chadderton, peacock blue crepe de chine with lace panels and posy. Mrs. L Potter, black chiffon beaded in silver. Mrs. H. Walker, black georgette with lace panels. Mrs. F. Taylor, lemon satin with overskirt of lace to tone, and black shawl. Mrs. W. L. Langridge, beige georgette heavily embroidered, and shawl. Mrs. C. J. Craig, black crepe de chine with gold relief. Mrs. A. J. Girling, opal frock of crepe de chine with irridescent embroidery. Mrs. C. Edison Smith, accordion pleated frock of blush pink crepe de chine. Miss Doris Bransgrove, pale pink lace with crepe de chine shawl painted in carnation shade.
