Pratten's prophecy that a Celanese factory would be establishing in Australia, the Australian Press Association understands that no further consideration has been given the project, to which the Celanese company says it never was seriously committed. Inquiries suggest the view that with incessant labour troubles in Australia, the project of consummation of the idea is most remote. The final payments on last season’s butter-fat will be paid out on November ■-U, and will be lid a lb for the supply in July. 1927; lid for August, 1927; Id for May, 1925; and lid for June. 1928. This will bring the cash pay-out for superfine up to Is 6d from July to April, Is 7d for May, and Is 7£d for June. UNITED BUILDING SOCIETY A balance at credit of profit and loss account of £12,183 is shown in the 22nd annual report of the United Permanent Building and Investment Society. This includes £4,944 brought forward from last year. After deducting dividend payments at the rate of 7£ per cent, per annum in October, 1927, and April, 1928, and transferring £1,500 to reserve, £4954 is made available for distribution.
