The Auckland Motor Racing Club i have fixed on December S for the date of the first motor-cycle race meeting at the Takapuna racecourse. Last year revenue from ta,xes on motor-vehicles and petrol in France totalled £12,000,000, compared with £8,970,000 in 1926. According to Professor C. E. Griffin, of the University of lowa, who investigated the history of 100,000 cars, the life of an automobile is seven years. Mr. J. S. Laing, who has recently resigned from the position of Auckland manager of Dominion Motors, leaves for Sydney on October It 9, to take up a new position. Mr. D. W. Gordon, Wellington manager for Dominion Motors, Ltd., is at present in Auckland watching the interests of his company prior to the new manager taking over.
