MR. LONDON A CANDIDATE
It is probable that a by-electlon will be necessary to fill the vacancy on the City Council caused by the death of Cr. F. W. H. Brinsden. Mr. J. R. Lundon announced this morning that “in furtherance of Cr. W. U. Murray’s campaign against civic waste, inefficiency and administrative acedia,” he would be a candidate for the vacancy. Mr. Lundon will open his campaign wfith an address at Point Chevalier Hall next Tuesday evening. Among other possible candidates are Mr. T. Bloodworth, who stood down from the council last year in order to contest the mayoralty, but was returned at the head of the Harbour Board poll.
