The Mayor of Dargaville, Mr. F. A. Jones, is visiting Auckland. Mr. K. D. I*. Murray, of Auckland, left Wellington to-day by the Port punedin for London. Dr. H. L. Gould, of the Auckland Hospital, left for Wellington by the Limited last evening. Guests at the Rotary Club’s luncheon to-day were Messrs. F. G. Wayne and T. W. Hetherington (Thames). The members of the New Zealand Parliamentary delegation are expected l 0 return from Canada on October 22. Mr. H. H. Sterling, general manager New Zealand Railways, returned to Wellington by the Limited last evening. Sir Charles Skerrett, Chief Justice, who last week underwent a second severe operation at Wellington, is making satisfactory progress.—P.A. Major Frank Andrews, 0.8. E., arrived from England by tho Port Darwin yesterday, and will go South to >pend a holiday with friends in Hawke’s Bay. Mr. E. Casey, divisional superintendent. North Island Railways, who has been touring North Auckland on railway busines, has returned to Auckland. Mr. A. C. Forbes, 0.8. E., Director of Forestry of the Irish Free State, and official delegate to the British Empire Forestry Conference, is visiting ruaMr. Harold Harrison, who has been outdoor representative of the Wellington Railway Advertising Branch for the past years, has been appointed resident representative of the department in London. Mr. G. C. Creagh. chairman of the Auckland Stock Exchange; Mr. W. B. Colbeck, a member of the committee; and Mr. H. G.
