AT DIXIELAND
New cubicles down the entire side of the dancing floor, and fesh lighting of subtle shades, .lent an extra charm to Dixieland on Saturday evening. \ when a particularly large crowd of dancers enjoyed the bright music suppied by Mr. Harry Xeilson and his band. Among those present were: Miss Rita Cornaga, petal pointed frock of blush pink georgette, with corsage of rose tissue. Miss Nancy Martin, gold embossed coral georgette fi'oek. Miss Greta Heron, frock of deep rose velvet with inset bands of lemon georgette. Miss R. Ashton, frock of gold lace and lame. Miss Kery Kelly, tiered frock of forget ‘ me not blue mariette. Miss T. Solomon, chalk white frock, the skirt composed of cascades of georgette. Miss E. Miller, nankin blue chiffon velvet frock, with -uneven side panels. Miss L. "Waller, shaded taffeta frock of pastel tints. Miss M. Kronfeld, chantiUy lace frock of black over ivory charmeuse. Miss M. Smith, white georgette frock with rhinestone trimming. Miss B. Miller, floral georgette frock. Miss M. Kissling, frock of mist blue georgette with floral relief. Mrs. Mark Davis, black and silver frock of brocaded mariette. Miss Bertha Harris (Christchurch), pastel pink frock of georgette with taffeta. Miss Edith Scheele, taffeta frock of briar rose pink appliqued with black. Miss M. Tiarks, black georgette frock with hem and yoke of lace. Mrs. G. Roxburgh, hyacinth blue georgette hemmed with silver lace. Mrs. E. Bentley, wine red velvet frock with iridescent sequin beading. Mrs. F. Hunter, fringed frock of canton jade georgette. Mrs. W. Taylor, mist blue frock of velvet and georgette. Miss George, cyclamen coloured frock of georgette and lame made with a petailed skirt. Miss M. Webb, frock of powder blue lame and georgette. Miss A. Lewis, silver lame gown, with blue tulle skirt fashioned with uneven hemline. Miss Duder, frock of black taffeta relieved with gold net appliqued flowers. Miss I). Kerr, shell pink georgette gown embossed with flowers, and a blue shawl. Miss Williams, frock of larkspur blue ring velvet. Miss D. Smith, cerise georgette gown with petalled skirt, and a Spanish shawl. Miss Campion, frock of lime green beaded georgette and silver finished with a green feather flower. Miss E. Moore, white beaded net gown over coral pink, with bead fringed skirt. Miss M. Fox, peach coloured floral taffeta frock. Miss J. Smith, apricot floral taffeta la rock. Miss Flavell, green sequinned gown. Miss Burcher, blue georgette frock with taffeta french bow, finished with a shoulder spray Miss Grainger, frock of floral taffeta made with uneven hemline. Miss Gabrielle Fraser, gown of black georgette over silver lame. Miss Dorrie Thomas, green taffeta frock trimmed with gold net and yellow french bow and shoulder flower. Mrs. J. P. O’Connor, gown of green georgette trimmed with bead motifs. Miss M. Brodie, cyclamen lame and georgette frock with accordion-pleated skirt. Mrs. F. Alpe, black georgette frock beaded in colours, and Indian shawl. Miss M. Fenwick, black panne velvet gown, uneven hem and finished with a rose at the waistline. Mrs. Alan Wallace, frock of black lace and green shawl. Miss M. Johnson, coral pink and black panne velvet frock. Mrs. T. Stone, frock of coral ring satin, flower at waistline, and blue shawl.
