A young man who was walking home along the Toorak Road says he saw the car brought to a standstill in front of the house, which was near the fashionable quarter of South Yarra. Three shots were fired. They were quickly followed by sounds of splintered glass. The car was then driven away. As it turned the corner into another street, two more shots were fired.
