SHOTS FIRED FROM CAR
MELBOURNE MYSTERY MELBOURNE, Thursday. Shots were fired at a house late last night by a party In a motor-car. A young man who was walking home along the Toorak Road says he saw the car brought to a standstill in front of the house, which was near the fashionable quarter of South Yarra. Three shots were fired. They were quickly followed by sounds of splintered glass. The car was then driven away. As it turned the corner into another street, two more shots were fired. A police patrol was soon on the scene. Outside the house they found another car, believed to have been stolen. It was not occupied. In the interior were a dressing gown and a bottle of beer.
