AUCKLAND TRAMPERS
SUCCESSFUL YEAR ENDED MUCH GROUND COVERED Tramping seems to be becoming more popular in Auckland. There are 102 members of the Auckland Tramping Club, an increase of 18 over last year. According to the annual report, for the 12 months ended September 30, the year has been a most successful one. Trips have been organised to Piha, Karekare, Huia and Waipoua Forest, while in October last the annual week-end at the Tongariro National Park was held. The balance sheet shows a satisfactory balance of £25 14s standing to the credit of the club. This is an increase of £l4 os 7d over last year. The club wishes to express its thanks to the Railway Department for its assistance in arranging excursions, and to Mr. and Mrs. McAuam .... .. x.ig the committee to hold its monthly meetings at their house. During November one-day trips will be made to Ruotewhenua, vVaitakere to Swanson via Black Bridge, Titirangi Beach, and Riverhead to Swanson. Week-end trips will be made to McElwain’s Crossing and to Piha, Karekare, and Whatipu. During the Christmas holidays it is proposed that members should visit Mercury Bay and Piha. Details will be discussed at the general meeting on October IS.
