DROWNED IN RIVER
INQUEST AT WANGANUI (Special to THE SUN) WANGANUI, Thursday. A verdict of accidentally drowned was returned by the coroner, Mr. J. J. Pilkington, at an inquest into the death of Archibald Stanley Benton, who was drowned in the Wanganui River on September 28. Evidence showed that deceased, who was a good swimmer, went out in a flat-bottomed boat to gather firewood on the river, and did not return. His body was found yesterday on the beach at Putiki by Constable Hollinshead.
