DEATHS AT SEA
VOYAGE OF RIMUTAKA YOUNG FIREMAN MISSING Two deaths at sea were reported by the officers of the New Zealand Shipping Co.’s Rimutaka, which arrived from Southampton this morning. When the ship was one day out from Panama a young fireman named J. Matthews was reported missing. He was 22 i's of age, and was making his first trip to sea. Matthews was trimming in one of the bunkers, and was missed at 3 o'clock in the morning. He had c »m----plained of feeling unwell and seemed depressedA day or two later a young married woman named Mrs. Ashworth died, after a short illness. She was travelling to New Zealand with her husband, who had taken a trip Home in order lo accompany her. She was buried at sea on the following day, the Rev. J. F. Nuthall, of Oxford, taking the service.
