HAMILTON FINAL (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Wednesday. Owing to the weather conditions the final of the South Auckland ladies’ championship for the Ellis Cup could not be played this afternoon, and was postponed until to-merrow. A number of players went out in the medal foursome in spite of the conditions, Mrs. Slee and Miss Oliver winning with »a 79 net. CLUB MATCHES The following club matches have been played:— Opotiki.—The eclectic handicap competition played over 36 holes for the president’s trophy has been completed, the best scores over the 18 hoies being as follows: Mrs. Todd, 89—36, 53; Mrs. Davey, 91—36, 55; Mrs. Birkmyer, 89 —28, 61; Mrs. O’Sullivan, 93—32, 61. TITIRANGI TOURNAMENT The open tournament at the Titirangi links will be held on October 20, 22 and 23. The tournament will be played on the new course. The programme is as follows:—Open amateur medal championship, 36 holes: Titirangi Cup, with qualifying round of 36 holes; Titirangi group handicap, for all competitors who do not qualify in the Titirangi Cup: medal handicap on Saturday afternoon; bogey handicap on Monday morning; medal handicap on Monday afternoon; bogey handicap on Tuesday morning; four-ball bogey handicap on Tuesday afternoon. Waitemata.—A putting competition yesterday afternoon completed the IS3S season of the Waitemata Ladies Golf Club Prizes won during the year were distributed at the afternoon tea adjournment by Mrs. Geo. Gribbin president Members returned the compliment by giving Mrs. Gribbin a handsome bouquet. h Miss Effie Alison, who lias long been connected with the dub. and was one of the few members who kept it going during the troublous .after-war period, was made a life member in appreciation of her activity in the club, and presented with a bouquet.
