(Special to TUB SL S! HAMILTON. To-day The feature of to-day's play »n the South Auckland women’s golf tournament was the defeat of Mrs. Hosking by Miss Olive M. Kay. Miss Kay finished at 7S. and Mrs. Hoskins's score was This morn ins there was a greater number of competitors than yesterday. Tho second round of the Kills t up, for the championship, and a medal handicap. were played. The semi-finalists in the cup are meeting this afternoon. A bogey handicap will also be played. The tournament ends to-morrow with a foursomes medal handicap, the final for tho Ellis Cup taking place in tho afternoon. This morning’s results were: Miss Kay beat Mrs. Ilosking. 3 up and 2 to play: Miss Culling won at the 19th from Mrs. Slee; Miss Ache son beat Miss McNaughton. 5 and 4: Mrs. Wilson beat Miss Brewster. 4 and 3. TITIRANGI LINKS It is probable that at least five of the new greens on the new course at Titirangi will bo opened for play when the Ballin Cup qualifying round is played on Saturday. It is expected that the whole of tho new course will be in play at the end of this month, when a three-day open amateur tournament will be followed by the ladies’ provincial golf championships. # The recent favourable weather lias had a beneficial effect on the new greens, and Titirangi is now looking more like a golf course than ever it promised to be in the pastThe opening of the new course, which has cost the club several thousand pounds, will possibly be marked by a special ceremony, such as the playing of an exhibition match, and a dinner* 1 in the clubhouse.
