HAMILTON NONAGENARIAN

MR. PHILIP LE QUESNE

(From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Monday

Mr. Philip le Quesne, one of Hamilton's first settlers, celebrated his 92nd birthday yesterday.

Mr. le Quesne was born in Jersey Island on October 7, 1836. He arrived in Auckland on May 10, 1860, and opened a store there. Six years later, and two years after the establishment of the military settlement at Hamilton, ho moved here and opened a general store. He wa afterwards for some time proprietor of the Waikato Hotel. Mr. le Quesne is now living in retirement at Hamilton East. He has possession of all his faculties and is remarkably hale and hearty.
