CAR DAMAGED BY FIRE
SPARK IGNITES PETROL Yesterday morning a motor-car, owned # by Mr. R. B. Lusk, of 11, Bassett Road, Remuera, was badly damaged by fire. The car, which was in the garage, was being overhauled and the gearbox was being washed out with petrol. A. spark caused by a short in the battery circuit ignited the petrol vapour and flames spread all over the car. The Remuera Fire Brigade was called out but they were unable to prevent the car from being badly damagedThe garage was saved, however, omy the walls being slightly scorched. Tn® car was insured in the Norwich Union Office for £ 300.
