HOWICKI PRESBYTERIANS

INDUCTION OF NEW MINISTER The induction of the Rev. D. Mclntyre, formerly of Southland, to the Howick Presbyterian charge, took place on Friday afternoon. The Rev. S. E. Hill, of Ellerslie, presided, and conducted the induction service. Others who took part in the proceedings were the Rev. W. Gilmour, the Rev. D IX Scott and the Rev. F. B. Barton. After the service the ladies of the congregation entertained the visitors to tea. In the evening a welcome social to Mr. and Mrs. Mclntyre and family was given in the Sunday school kail, when the Rev. G. Budd and other visiting minister, in the name of the Auckland Presbytery, welcomed the guests to the Auckland district. The Rev. Canon H. Mason, vicar cf All Saints, Howick, and Father Downie, resident priest of the Roman Catholic Church, were present, and both made reference to the pleasant relationship between the various denominations in the district.
