“OUR BETTERS”
HIS MAJESTY’S ON MONDAY
On Monday and the two following evenings Miss Bannerraan will appear in “Our Betters,” in which this brilliant actress made her name a household word throughout England. In Melbourne Miss Bannerman and “Our Betters” was chosen as the attraction to open the new J. C. Williamson, Ltd., comedy theatre in that city. “The name of Miss Bannerman,” wrote a critic, “will remain impressed in minds of Melbourne playgoers with the early history of the beautiful Williamson comedy theatre, and there should not bo a more pleasant and appropriate association. ITer introduction to Australia proved her to be an artist of exceptional charm and ability, and her performance in “Our Betters” will always oe remembered as one of the most delightful ever enjoyed in this city.” It is said that the frocks worn by Miss Bannerman in “Our Betters” created something like a sensation in Australia, and the scenery and the stage settings are said to be superb.] Only the three representations can be staged of “Our Betters,” and on Thursday next and two following nights “Sexes and Sevens” will be staged. The last two nights of the season will be devoted to representations of the charming comedy-drama, “Diplomacy.”
