YOUTH SHOT DEAD
IN MELBOURNE STREET NO APPARENT MOTIVE MELBOURNE, Thursday. George Law, aged 19, was shot dead while walking to his home in a street in South Melbourne with a companion. The shot apparently was fired from a pea-rifle. Law’s companion did not hear the shot, but a few minutes after Law fell he heard a motor-cycle engine being started.
The police were quickly on the scene, but they failed to form any conclusion regarding the presumed murder, which was apparently without motive.
