BAVIN’S COAL SCHEME
UNIONS DISCUSS POSITION SYDNEY, Thursday. The Premier of New South Wales, Mr. T. R. Bavin, and representatives of the mining unions, to-day discussed the position of the coal industry. Mr. Bavin explained the Government’s proposals for stabilising the industry, and indicated that the Government would consider any counter-proposals made by the unions. The unions so far have not submitted any suggestions, but after the conference was adjourned the unions met to discuss the position.
