HEAVY TRADE IN MANURES FARMERS BOOKING FORWARD Auckland merchants report a very healthy trade in top-dressing manures, principally for delivery during the early months of next year. Buyers are taking advantage of the cheaper quotations offering for deliveries during those months. LONDON TALLOW SALES (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Wednesday. At the liondon tallow sales to-day 883 casks were offered and 646 sold. There was keen demand for good sorts. Fine mutton advanced 6d. Fine edible beef tallow fetched extreme prices, and others were Is dearer. Brices were:—Mutton: Fine, 44s 6d; medium. 40s 6d. Beef: Fine, 465; medium, 40s 6d.
SYDNEY W(JOL SALES A HARDENING TENDENCY SYDNEY, Thursday. At the Sydney wool sales there was a. better tone in the market, and prices for all good wools showed a hardening tendency on the opening rates.
