LORD LOVAT’S VISIT

PROPOSALS DRAWN UP A number of concrete proposals in connection with the settling of British migrants in the Dominion, and the development of a land-settlement scheme, were agreed upon at a meeting this morning of a special committee set up for that purpose by various local bodies. They will be placed before Lord Lovat, British Minister-in-Charge of Overseas Settlement, who will arrive in Auckland early next week. He will be accompanied by Mr. F. Skevington, M.8.E., of the British Treasury Department. Sir Heaton Rhodes will represent the Government during Lord Lovat’s visit to Auckland, and Mr. D. Ardell. of the Department of Internal Affairs, will be present.
