McCONACHY BEATS RECORD FOR AUCKLAND LINDRUM MORE CONSISTENT i A break of 887, a r.-cord for Auck- | land, was the chief feature of yesterday's play in the Dili lards match between McCunachy and Lindrum. When play was resumed in the after- j noon, McCunachy, who had an unfin- I ished break of 30b iron, the previous sesison. carried on faultlessly until j he made an Auckland record of SSL 1 Lindrum was very consistent, pass- , ing the 400 mark once and the 300 mark on three occasions. The splendid play of both men immensely pleased the large audience at both the afternoon and evening sessions. As the match will conclude on Saturday evening, the public now has | limited opportunities of seeing the champions. The scores for the afternoon session ; were: \Y. Lindrum, 12,766, breaks of 4SS and 379; average, 154.5. O. McCon- ; achy, 11,901 (in play), breaks of BS7. • 88, 121, unfinished; average, 152.9 LINDRUM REGAINS GROUND During the evening McCunachy car* i ried his unfinished break of 121 to 504 before failing. He was warmly applauded for his top-of-the-table play. From then on Lindrum practically dominated the session, and regained his good lead by making breaks of 53 and 77, .and running to sessional points, with a brilliant effort of 325 unfinished. The session aeores were: W. Lindrum, 13.501 (in play), breaks of 316 and 325, unfinished; average, 153. C. McConachy, 12,334, break of 504; average, 100. The match will be continued at three o'clock this afternoon and eight o’colck this, evening.
