At the wool sales, 10.016 bales were offered, of which 6,210 were Australian and 2.032 New Zealand. There was an average selection of Merinos, including some good spinners’ parcels. a small miscellaneous offering of New Zealand crossbreds, and a mediumsized selection of slipes. Yesterdays improved tone continued, but there were rather more withdrawals. New Zealand.—Want wood, 23* d tops, 22id average.
PERDRIAU RUBBER COY. A dividend at the rate of 8 per cent, on ordinary shares and 7 per cent, on the preference issue has been declared by Perdriau Rubber Company for the year ended June 30, 1928. Net profit for the year, after providing for depreciation, is shown at £213,393, compared with £183,181 for 1926-27. Total distribution to shareholders takes £137,562 and £72,057 is placed to general reserve, leaving £17,220 to be carried forward, against £13,447 brought in from the previous account. No reference is made in the report to the negotiations with the Dunlop Company, which have been the subject of many recent rumours. COMPANY REGISTRATIONS Three private companies were registered in Auckland yesterday. Details are:— Ambassador Picture Theatre, Limited. SYDNEY WOOL SALES SYDNEY, Wednesday. At the Sydney wool sales to-day competition was fairly general and the market was unchanged. There was still a good deal of irregularity for faulty Merino tieece wools and short and very burry skirtings, which were difficult to sell. Comebacks and crossbreds met with good demand.
